As a drug free for life athlete and tested constantly, yes, you DID hit a nerve considering a testosterone patch.
But here's the other question, Lisa. WHY TEST? why not the female hormones, WHY do people presume it's a testosterone deficiency when they hit a plateau? why reach for the patch when you could possibly come out of it OR be happy at your current size? A great female PL of long career was actually found by blood test to be LOW in testosterone, clearly women do NOT get their strength there....unless they overrun the system they are born with!
THAT is part of my frustration and I apologize if I sounded angry with you. I'm not.
I also have a suggestion for you in training if you haven't hit delete lol.
My experience in coaching athletes who have lost bodyfat or weight is that the body is no longer "working as hard" on several grounds. For example, you may have done "work" as friction with thighs hitting each other, which sounds funny but yes, that's work and burns calories. The other thing though is the mere fact you no longer carry that 50+ pound of weight with you morning, noon and night. You are now "more efficient". Thus the body WAS burning more, but lighter you burn less.
One way I've had people break this plateau is by "adding back bodyweight". Not all of it, usually about 20 lbs of lead in a vest does the trick! when you walk on a treadmill, or take a hike, adding back 20 lbs of weight helps you mimic "weighing more" and thus helps the body burn more. It can help you lean down further IF the body truly needs to do it.
Another is to change your program up - more intensity or heavier weights, whatever the body wants to do and is built for. One gal took up deadlift after 70 lbs off and then became an OL'er....and her body has responded by building her better and leaner both. It's a process of experimentation there, perhaps 10k's or bike racing, who can say!
The other caveat is you should evaluate where you are - some people get overly "lean driven" and the body is not going there....preservati
You have already worked very hard and I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks Krista for your reply : )
I used to log food, I dont anymore but I am diligent about eating clean.
Like you I do sample when i cook tho it tends to be veggies and salad .. but
something i will watch a little more closely : ) I do agree with you on
portion size and sometimes that can slide when instead of eating 6 small
mini meals throughout the day, I skimp due to being busy, and then I am
HUNGRY lol. I was exercising hard and every day, the last month or two I now
take two days off for non structured exercise from snowshoeing the trails to
walking my dogs. This time of year is tough as it's still snowy, cold and
blah .. so my feelings (little energy, tired out, blah) could be related to
that. I have had blood work done by my doctor and the only thing off was my
iron was low, so I have been on iron pills the last few months. my blood
pressure, she feels is good, at 95/62 55beats per minute so .... I shall
just keep doing what Im doing and let my body do the rest. I would like to
lean out more .. but I dont want it to be a stressful struggle ...
Thanks again : )
Lisa Day in the mnts : )
